Our Fantastic Furball

Today was another great day for little Finley! We got a call this morning from the doctors saying that Finley was not really needing the IV anymore, and so once they were finished with what was in they probably would not need to continue it. They also had upped her feedings now to 30 mL at a time. We are so excited! They say that her bilirubin level is still high (from the jaundice) and that as she starts to eat more, she will have more bowel movements, and therefore her bilirubin level will then decrease. It is excreted some through bowel movements, so it is really encouraging that she is starting to eat more. Hopefully she'll get the jaundice light off of her soon! She is still eating some through bottle, and some through tube. They say she does well with the bottle, but she tires pretty quickly and has a hard time staying at task eating on the bottle.

We went to see her this afternoon for a few hours and met Lindsay's mom there for a bit too. They let us hold her for 30 minutes outside of the light, so we had to take turns. When we got there she had been bathed and the IV from her head was no longer in place! We were so happy to see a head free of wires :) They did place one in her hand, but said it probably wouldn't be used after today. We sure do have a fantastic little furball!!!
