Bryson is 3!!

Bryson turned 3 on Sunday, 9/7! We cannot believe the time has passed so fast! He is such a fun kid, and he makes us laugh so many times a day. He is starting to enter the age of saying anything and everything. It is pretty amusing. On the Saturday before his birthday we had his party at Extreme Fun, an inflatable jumpy place. He had a great time, wore himself out, and loved having friends and family there. He even got to see Mommy do a few flips for him in the monster truck jumper. I think he was amazed. I sure was! He did great at blowing out his candles and really enjoyed his cupcake. I can't wait to see the changes that come with this next year of life. It is such a fun ride!
On Sunday 9/7, his actual birthday, we took him to dinner and went to Red Robin. He ate almost all of his hamburger and then asked to play games as we were leaving. We don't usually do that but figured we'd let him since it was his birthday. He drove a Jeep and also picked out another tattoo, a dinosaur one this time. He was really down about the APD tattoo coming off. Good thing kids can't actually pick out tattoos for themselves and get real ones, because later on in life I'm not sure a police badge and a dinosaur would be so cool. Later we went home and played one of his new games he got from Aunt Kerrie called Hullabaloo, and Bryson loves it! We did that and played airplane to burn off some of the energy from the milkshake Bryson had at dinner!

On the following Monday I took some left over cupcakes up to his class to share with his friends, and he had a good time with Mommy being there early to share cupcakes. Finley was also a big hit at the class!!

Papa's Birthday

This year we celebrated Papa's birthday a bit late. We decided to do something at home since cousin Eisley is still a little small to be out in public too much. People love to touch babies! Just this Thursday I took Bryson and Finley to the doctor for his 3 year check up as well as her 9 month check up, and in the waiting room a lady felt the need to rub Finley's hair and touch her face. I'm hoping her daughter wasn't actually sick, but just there for a check up as well. I remember a stranger rubbing my belly at Babies R Us one time when I was pregnant with Bryson. At the time I wasn't really sure what to do. I was kind of surprised by it. Only after having him did someone tell me I should have rubbed her belly back to see if it made her feel uncomfortable. I didn't get the chance to do it when I was pregnant with Finley, but it sounded funny to me! Of course it's different when it's family and friends :) I digress... we decided to cook out at our house for Papa's birthday and had fun! We even busted out the Guitar Hero for a bit. As Bryson says "Court rocks!" Thanks to Papa for taking pictures. We didn't think to get out the camera, and therefore didn't get any shots of Papa at all :(

Babysitting Eisley

Thursday night I was very excited to babysit my niece, Eisley for the first time at 5 weeks old. Courtney and Nicholas had an event to go to for Emancipet as Nicholas is on the board. I was really looking forward to it, and said that I would do it, and then shortly after remember that Mike would be gone, in Portland for work Wednesday through Thursday night. I thought I could do it alone with Eisley and both of my 2 kids, but made sure Courtney and Nicholas were okay with it too. I was pretty nervous about having all 3 alone since Finley is all over the place and Eisley is an infant that needs feeding and all that. It worked out although it was a bit crazy for a while. Mike's plane was supposed to get in at 7:30 and so we figured he could be there by around 8 to help me, but of course his plane got delayed. Finley would not go to sleep for me when she normally goes down at 7, and she cried and cried for a bit. Eisley was the best one for me, and I even got a few pictures of her smiling at me :) All in all it was pretty successful! I can't wait to babysit again sometime, maybe with just me and Eisley though!! This is the only picture I got with everyone in it, including Heidi, their dog. I thought it was pretty funny.

Doctor's check up

I took both kids to the doctor this week on Thursday for their check ups. It turned out I could take them at the same time for Finley's 9 month check up and Bryson's 3 year check up since it fell at the same time. Convenient! Both kids checked out great. Finley is 18 pounds 3.5 ounces and 26 1/2 inches tall, which puts her a little over 25% for weight, and 25% for height. Bryson is 29.8 pounds, in the 25% for weight, and in the 50% for height.

First Day of Preschool

Bryson had his first day of preschool this year at the same school he attended all last year and this summer. They were closed the month of August, so he's had a month off, and seemed excited to get started back. We talked about it a lot, and we met his teacher a few weeks ago. He will go 3 days a week this year instead of the 2 that he went last year. He'll go Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 9-1. This allows mama some extra work time while Finley is taking her nap. So, on Wednesday this week he started school with his new teacher Ms. Shannon. She is very sweet and we are excited to get to know her this year.

This is a picture of Bryson before we headed to school. He was excited!

This is a picture I took of Bryson playing with playdough when I picked him up from school, and a picture with his new teacher, Ms. Shannon.

Ms. Shannon said he did great his first day of school. There was no crying when I left this year like there was last year. It was much smoother, and a great day for us all! I'm glad to be back in the swing of things and be heading into the fall :)

Labor Day Weekend

On Sunday over Labor Day weekend we headed down to Zilker with my sister Courtney, her husband Nicholas, and their new little one, Eisley, and we played on the playground, ate snowcones, rode the train, cooked out and hung out for a few hours all while being extremely hot!! It was a great time though :) Here are some pictures from the day.

Port Aransas

We left for Port Aransas on Sunday, August 24 and the car was packed to the top!

The ride was good. We stopped at a rest stop once to feed Finley and then we stopped later at a DQ for lunch, and both kids fell asleep after that for a nap, and we woke them up when we got to the ferry to cross to Port Aransas. We knew Bryson would love being in the car, on a boat. Plus, we were only a few minutes from the condo at that point, so it worked out great! Once we finally made it, we had 2 happy kiddos to be able to finally get out of the car!
